In October, we focus on integrated care – join our campaign & online workshop!

The integration of health and social care is one of the key challenges in Europe’s care systems. It is a huge obstacle to ensure healthy ageing and independent living for all, a key goal of SHAPES.

Our project is working on it, and we want to trigger a debate with all interested stakeholders. We want to share our work and hear from everyone involved in the development of integrated care.

You can be part of the conversation in two ways:

  • Follow our awareness campaign, which is ongoing in all our social media accounts during the month of October! Debate is particularly lively in Twitter. Just visit our Twitter account and/or look for the campaign hashtag #SHAPESdialogue.
  • Join our second online SHAPES Dialogue Workshop next 29 October! The workshop is free and will allow you to actively exchange with other interested stakeholders from across Europe.

To register to the Dialogue Workshop, simply click here.

Older adult engagement in user-centered, innovative digital solutions for active and healthy ageing

In this context, the SHAPES project [4] aims to create the first European open Ecosystem enabling the large-scale deployment of a broad range of digital solutions for supporting and extending healthy and independent living for older adults who are facing permanently or temporarily reduced functionality and capabilities.

Together We Can Ensure Public Space Does Not Become A No-Go Zone

“A lack of co-ordination at the local, national and international level on numerous initiatives launched rapidly to combat COVID-19 could result in notably reduced co-operation and exchanges of data and results between funded projects.”

Issued by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), this warning claims that “Involving multi-sector and multi-partner co-ordination mechanisms is key to help countries better prepare for the world of tomorrow.”

Given the likelihood that we will be living with the threat of pandemics for the foreseeable future, working cooperatively and pooling resources will help safeguard the long-term sustainability of our health and social care sectors, and ensure public space remains a safe and habitable communal meeting point for all.
