With the aim of creating a small community of elderly people, who are often living alone and unfamiliar with technology, AIAS Bologna organised two meetings during the summer, aimed at bringing elderly users closer to technology.

Participants were able to try out and learn more about the functioning of commonly used digital devices such as Alexa, but also more complex health monitoring systems and the systems developed within the SHAPES project.

To make the participants feel comfortable and to facilitate community building, we called the meetings ‘Digital Aperitifs’: between chips and juices they felt free to share concerns and interests in various devices presented and discovered how technology can help them in their daily lives.
