Experimentation of the Kompaï Robot at Home
Our partner 5th DYPE in the Shapes project located in Greece has received a Kompaï robot for a 2 weeks experiment in the home of an elderly person (7th to 24th of March). After receiving training on the robot, our partner 5th DYPE mapped the person’s home and installed the robot to start the experiment.
The chatbot developed by VICOMTECH was integrated by Kompaï Robotics before the robot left.
The objective of this experiment is to reinforce the security of the elderly person at night in their home. For this purpose, 3-night rounds are programmed on the robot. The robot makes rounds in the person’s home thanks to its autonomous navigation at 1 am, 3 am and 5 am. If the person is detected, the robot asks him/her if he/she needs help and can accompany him/her wherever he/she wants.
The robot is also able to give an alarm in case of a fall.
This experiment will demonstrate that the presence of a Kompaï robot in the home increases safety and reassures the elderly person and their family.
